The British Government has expressed the need for Lagos State Government to partner with her on verification of documents presented by applicants for issuance of British Passports. The measure was sequel to recent challenges being encountered by the commission in verifying document such as birth certificate, school certificate, and parents’ background of applicants in the state which invariably was said to be responsible for the unnecessary delay in the issuance of passports.
Mr. John Deanie, Head of Passport Office and Counter Fraud, British High Commission, Lagos, stated this Thursday, during a meeting with the state Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Mr. Muslim Folami. Folami, while receiving the team, however, gave assurance of the present administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to support and collaborate with the commission in its drive to ensure speedy issuance of British Passports to applicants.
