Body found after teen ‘took drugs, stripped naked and ran towards river’

Search and Rescue teams are looking for 16-year-old Nathan Wood in the River Dart in Totnes, Devon. 06/08/2016 Police divers were today (sat) searching a river for a naked teenage boy feared drowned after taking a so-called legal high. See SWNS story SWHIGH; The 16-year-old was with a group of friends near the River Dart in Totnes, Devon, before the police were called. He was reportedly seen running naked near the river in a "distressed state" before falling into the water at around 6.30pm. Officers said they think he may have taken a new psychoactive substance (NPS) - what used to be a legal high - which caused him to act "quite irrationally".

A body has been recovered by police searching for a missing 16-year-old who was last seen running naked towards a river.

Nathan Wood was last seen by the River Dart at Swallowfields in Devon around 6pm on Friday.

A canoeist by the river said the boy looked in a state of distress.

He is believed to have taken a ‘potential new psychoactive substance’ while out with a group of female friends.

This afternoon, police confirmed that officers had found a body, but could not confirm it was that of Nathan.
